Graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, Duquesne University, and The Theological Seminary with a Doctorate in Divinity. John has been with the Boron Funeral Home, Inc. since September 2006. I purchased the funeral home from the Boron family April 1, 2025, continuing the sacred traditions and high standards the Boron family has passed on to me. John was the President of the Allegheny County Funeral Directors Association and former District Governer with the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association.  John and his wife Tracy reside in Pittsburgh.

THADDEUS T. “TED” BORON, JR.

Supervisor - Funeral Director

Ted Boron, Jr., has been a licensed embalmer and funeral director for over 40 years. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Honors Program at the University of Pittsburgh. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and was President of his class at the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. He was ranked Number One in his class and received The John Rebol Award, along with membership in the Mu Sigma Alpha, the Honor Society for the National Association of Colleges of Mortuary Sciences. Ted Jr. was a Board Member and Past President of the Carrick Business Association, and has also been on Parish Pastoral Council and the Worship Committee, was Chairman of the Church Building Committee, and is currently on the Finance Committee at Blessed Trinity Parish. He has been a lector since eighth grade and was in the first class of lay Eucharistic Ministers. He volunteered for 11 years as an EMT – Paramedic and Supervisor for Baldwin Emergency Medical Services. Ted and his wife, Pam, have been married for over 40 years. They have two children, Dr. Ted Boron III and Dr. Elaine Boron, and three grandsons, Ted IV, Oliver, and Logan.

EDWARD D. BORON

Funeral Director

Ed was born and raised in Carrick and entered the funeral profession because of his desire to help families during difficult times. Ed graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1978 as a licensed funeral director and embalmer.

Ed has been married to his wife, Kathi, for the past 40 years and is the proud Dad of three children. Nicole, Ryan, and Jenna, and three very special grandchildren, Camille, Christian, and Demi. Ed values the many relationships and friendships formed throughout the years with the families he has served.

JOAN BARRY BACHE

Funeral Director

Joan was been a licensed funeral director for nearly fifty years. She was the owner of Barry Funeral Home.

KEVIN R. DIETERLE

Supervisor, Licensed Funeral Director

Kevin was born on January 11, 1957, and is the supervisor and owner of the Readshaw Funeral Home, Inc. He is married to Carla M. Dieterle. He attended Carrick High School, Gannon College in Erie and the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. Kevin received his funeral directors license in 1980 and has been associated with the Readshaw Funeral Home, Inc. since 1981. In addition to his funeral directors' license, Kevin also has a Pennsylvania Insurance License. In 1984 Kevin became the second funeral director in Allegheny County to be certified as a funeral service practitioner from The Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice.

Kevin is a member of the Blessed Trinity Parish (Holy Angels Church, St. Albert the Great Church, St. Basil Church and St. Sylvester Church) where he is a Eucharistic Minister and serves on Finance Council and was also past president. He is also a member of the Carrick Community Council, Carrick Business Association where he has held several offices and the Rotary Club of West Mifflin/South Hills and the Rotary Club of South Hills where he served as president, Gilmary Council #3668 of Knights of Columbus. Kevin is also a member of the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association and Allegheny County Funeral Directors Association (largest county association in the country) and served as its treasurer, secretary and president. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing and bowling.

HARRY A. READSHAW, III

Licensed Funeral Director

Harry A. Readshaw, III is a third generation funeral director. Harry was born on August 17, 1941 in Pittsburgh, PA. He is married to Carol Readshaw and has three children and six grandchildren. Harry attended Carrick High School, Duquesne University, the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and served in the United States Marine Corps.

In 1995, Harry was elected to the State House of Representatives of the 36th Legislative District. His district includes 16th Ward, 17th Ward, 29th Ward and 31st Ward (City of Pittsburgh), Baldwin, Brentwood, Mt. Oliver, West Homestead and Whitehall. His legislative committees include Environmental Resources and Energy, Fish and Game and Professional Licensure. Harry is also the first funeral director in Allegheny County to be recognized as a certified funeral service practitioner in 1981.

He is chairman of the Allegheny County Sanitary Authority, former chairman of the committee on Excellence for Pittsburgh Public Schools and is a member, past president and director of the Carrick Business Association, Carrick Community Council, Pennsylvania Monuments at Gettysburg Project, Past President of Allegheny County League of Municipalities. Harry's many memberships include West Mifflin/ South Hills Rotary Club, F.O.E. Aerie 1520, William D. Jack is a former Pittsburgh Fire Fighter and was a manager for the Pennsylvania Wine and Good Spirits Stores.  He is an avid golfer and bowler.

Mike is a retired Verizon technician. He stays busy with his family and grandchildren.

RONALD PILARSKI

Associate – Retired

Ron is a retired bank fraud investigator. He was an usher at the Civic Arena for twenty-two years and the Past President of the Pittsburgh Umpires Association. He is proud to be associated with the Boron Family.

THADDEUS T. BORON

Funeral Director – Deceased

Ted Boron was a licensed embalmer and funeral director for 66 years. In 1954, he was hired as the manager of the E. C. Koontz Funeral Home. In 1968, he purchased the funeral home that is now known as the Boron Funeral Home, Inc. He is a U.S. Army veteran who served overseas during World War II. Ted has been active in Rotary International and received the Paul Harris Fellow Medal for his service to Rotary and the community. He was the founding President of the Carrick Business Association and first Chairman of the St. Basil Church Council. He was a Past President of the Allegheny County Funeral Directors Association and member of the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association and National Funeral Directors Association. Sadly, he passed away in 2014.

LUCY P. BORON

Funeral Director – Deceased

Lucy Boron has been a licensed embalmer and funeral director for over 70 years, graduating Summa Cum Laude from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. She was awarded membership in Phi Sigma Epsilon. In 2012, Lucy was recognized by the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association as being the longest licensed, still active, female funeral director in the state.
