Rose F. (D'Ignazio) Leroch
On Monday, November 7, 2022, of Whitehall, formerly of Carrick, Rose Francis Leroch, affectionately known as "Nane", a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away at the age of 91.
Rose was born in Mt. Oliver, the daughter of Concetta and Matteo D'Ignazio. She is preceded in death by her six older siblings, Mary, Marie, Johnny, Lena, Edith, and Tony. On December 26, during the blizzard of 1950, Rose wed her late beloved husband of 59 years, Matthew J. Leroch Jr., best known as "Bud." Together they are now reunited with their late son, Robert Lee, and additionally, they are survived by their four children - Matthew J. Leroch III (Tracey), Deborah Pereslucha (Rich), Linda Breisinger (Larry), Toni McGuire (Tim), and devoted daughter-in-law, Gail Leroch.
Most people will remember Rose for her subtle acts of kindness and unconditional love for her family. She was best known by the 3 C's - Cooking, Cleaning, and Cards for others. She was often found cooking meals in her kitchen for family and neighbors or sending heartfelt notes of encouragement and support. She was meticulous in everything she did, from keeping her home to running the books for Economy Towing & Auto Inc., the business that her and Bud started and ran together in Carrick. After she lost her beloved Bud, she again worked at Economy Automotive Services until the age 89, always doing everything the only way, "The Rosie Way." And never to be underestimated, she could outdrive most men, knew the make and model of every car, could drive an 18-wheeler, and she loved to drive fast. In 1962, she won the women's demolition derby at The Heidelberg Raceway.
Rose was the ultimate spoiler to her 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and loved every moment spent with them. She was the babysitter, chauffeur, an ATM, and was available 24 hours a day for her family. She never missed a game, covering her shirt with fan flare, multiple picture buttons of her grandchildren. Her grandchildren were her life and she left her heart with them as they surrounded her in love as she left this world; Matthew J. Leroch IV (Erika), Michael (Melissa), Jesse, Tonye (Rob), Larry (Kristin), Garrett (Raegan), Carly (Nick), Tara (Tom), Jessica (Jon), Warren (Molly), Matthew (Taryn), Katie, Rebecca (Dan), Michael (Alicia), Matthew (Amanda), Derrick. Nane - you are our sunshine, forever and always.
