Obituary

Linda Alice Wahler

Age 74, passed away June 23, 2023, peacefully at home and surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer.
Linda was born on July 8th, 1948 to Shirley Wahler and Thomas Wahler in Pittsburgh, PA. As the oldest child in the family, she helped her mother raise her younger siblings from a very young age. She graduated from Pittsburgh Hospital School of Nursing in 1973 and began an extensive nursing career that lasted for 47 years, further cultivating her innate passion for caring and helping others.
Linda relocated to Florida where she established many life-long friendships and was an active participant in many groups including the mental health advocacy group NAMI and the local Democratic Club where she would help people register to vote. On her time off you could find her in her garden surrounded by her roses and fruit trees, other times she would be ballroom dancing the night away. She was also passionate about cooking and enjoyed preparing meals for the people she loved.
Her fun and loving adventurous spirit made her explore the world and open her heart and home to everyone in need. Not only was she a mother figure to many, she was also the most selfless, empathetic and compassionate individual you would ever meet. She was always available to share good times and good wine with and would go out of her way to make people feel welcomed and loved.
She is preceded in death by her mother Shirley Wahler, her father Thomas Wahler her brother Tim Wahler, and her many beloved pets, but especially her best canine companion, Oso, whose ashes will be laid to rest beside her.
She is survived by her biological daughter Kimberly Aksu, her step-children Miguel Gutierrez and Angelica Gutierrez and her many step-grandchildren. She is also survived by her Siblings, Mark Wahler, Kathy Michel (Norman), Jeff Wahler (Marilyn) and Steve Wahler (Carol) and her many nieces, nephews and well as many grandnieces and grandnephews, David, Amanda (Travis), Stephanie (Michael), Sean, Ryan, Aaron, Vivien, Ava, Jack and Ziggy. She will also be greatly missed by many of her cousins and close friends.
Friends and Family are welcome to her visitation at the T.M. Ralph Funeral Home, 7001 NW 4th St, Plantation, Fl 33317 on Friday, June 30th, 2023 at 1:30pm, followed by her service at 2:30pm with continued visitation until 4pm. She will be laid to rest beside her family at South Side Cemetery in Pittsburgh, PA on July 7th, 2023 at 2:00 PM. Arrangements in Pittsburgh are entrusted to Boron Funeral Home, Inc.
