Cecelia A. (Jaworski) Bukowski
Age 74, passed on Saturday, September 4, 2021, formerly of Carrick. Beloved Wife of William Bukowski. Loving Mother of Kevin Bukowski and Teresa (Lewis) Campbell. Devoted Grandmother of Adam Bukowski and Emily Campbell. She lived for her family and they were the center of her life, especially her grandchildren. Sister of Mary Kay Foit and Ted Jaworski and the late Christine Machar. She was a member of her beloved St Basil’s Parish since 1972, where she was a Eucharistic Minister and active community member. Cecelia was a member of St. Basil Ladies of Charity, past vice president of St. Basil Christian Mothers and Guild and past president of St. Basil Parent Teacher Guild. She worked in the refreshment stand St. Basil’s Homecoming Festival for more than twenty five years Cecelia worked for Elias Industries for 8 years before spending almost 30 years managing and assisting in managing the school lunch programs the Catholic schools in the area, especially at St. Basil’s, St. Sylvester’s, and Prince of Peace. An active member of the local Boy Scout troop, 224, she helped with their Lenten fish dinner held in the hall below the church for 23 years. She spent much of her summers in the stands at Volunteer’s Field down the street where Kevin and Terri played baseball and softball as kids. A professional cook, she, with her husband, would cater anything from small family dinners to large banquets in their spare time. She regularly assisted in catering many functions at Beth Shalom Synagogue in Squirrel Hill over 25 years. Many holiday weekends were spent hand making pierogies with her mother Pearl and daughter Terri, both of whom she was very close. Christmas time was her favorite time of the year. She regularly handmade and painted chocolate houses filled with homemade candies which she gave as Christmas presents to family and friends. She loved her snowmen, and the house was filled with snowmen decorations, some of which stayed up all year. When the Alzheimer’s made living in their house in Carrick problematic, her and her husband moved, in 2018, to an assisted living facility in McKee’s Rocks, Rosewood of the Ohio Valley. There they were able to live together in the same room (This is not common for Alzheimer’s patients and their spouses. They are usually required to live in separate rooms). Cecelia passed away peacefully in her bed last Saturday, 4 Sep. Visitations Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Boron Funeral Home, Inc., 1719 Brownsville Road. Funeral Prayers on Thursday at 10 AM. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish at St. Basil Church at 10:30 AM. Cecelia was a member of St. Basil Ladies of Charity, past vice president of St. Basil Christian Mothers and Guild and past president of St. Basil PTG.
