Twila L. Elliott
90, of Lexington, KY formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 29, 2021 in her home with her family by her side. She was born April 16, 1931 in Pittsburgh, PA, the third daughter of the late Marguerite C. and LeRoy (Dias) Winterbottom. She was preceded in death by sisters Dorothy (Winterbottom) Eberst and Arefielda (Winterbottom) Tennant. Beloved wife of the late Glenn Richard Russell Elliott; loving mother of Dolores (Mark) Sturgill and Karen Elliott; dog-grandmother of Spencer, Joseph, Charlie, Harry, Teddy and Winston.&
She cherished raising her daughters, being a loving wife to her husband and taking care of her mother. She enjoyed a good coloring book, coffee and pretzels, and always outshopped her daughters. Her children are a living testament to her spirit. She was filled with kindness, compassion, generosity and love for everyone and will be deeply missed by all who had the good fortune to know her.
The Sturgill family would like to thank the staff at Bluegrass Care Navigators (Lexington Green One Team) for the superb care that they gave our mother and the family.
Family and friends are welcomed for visitation on Tuesday, July 6, from 7-9 p.m. at Milward Funeral Home at 391 Southland Drive, Lexington, KY. Burial will follow at Mt. Royal Cemetery at 10 AM on July 10 in Pittsburgh, PA.
