Theresa Dolores "Beanie" (Lipinski) Rodwick
Age 83, on Thursday, February 23, 2017. Wife of the late John F. "Jack" Rodwick. Mother of David J., and Kenneth E. (Sheryl) Rodwick and Linda Ann McKown. Grandmother of Lindsay, Jacqueline, and Alexandra. Daughter of the late Herman and Stella Lipinski. Sister of the late Flo O'Malley, Rose Stepanovich, Harry, John, and Butch Lipinski. Visitations Saturday and Sunday 2-4 and 6-9 PM at the Boron Funeral Home, Inc., 1719 Brownsville Road. Funeral Prayers on Monday at 10:00 AM. Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Apostles Parish at St. Basil Church at 10:30 AM. "Beanie" was well known in the Carrick area for the mouthwatering and over sized sandwiches she created at the Carrick Literary Club. In 1980 she began working alongside Bob and Linda Crawford at the club for what ended up being a twenty plus year span. These sandwich creations included the "MVP" steak and the "All Star" Rueben along with her always popular Monday "wing" nights. After her time at the Carrick Lit she also went on to become a full time volunteer for the Pittsburgh Public Schools where she spent time at Overbrook before it was closed and she transferred to Roosevelt in the Carrick area. During her time at these schools, "Be Ma" as she was also known by the students and faculty acted as an ever present aid to the teachers and Principals.She also acted as chef and hostess for many of the lunches and functions they held during the school year. These activities that lasted over a period of 10 led to her being recognized by the Pittsburgh City Council who by order of proclamation made February 22, 2005 "Theresa Rodwick Day" in the city of Pittsburgh.
