THADDEUS T. BORON
Age 90, peacefully, and surrounded by family, on Saturday, October 11, 2014, of Carrick. Loving husband for 65 years to Lucy (Piotrowski) Boron; devoted father of Thaddeus T. (Pamela) Boron, Jr. and Edward D. (Kathi) Boron; proud pap of Nicole (Dominic) Ciotti, Thaddeus (Cecily Becker) Boron III, Ryan Boron, Elaine (Douglas) Maloney, and Jenna Boron; son of the late Frank and Anna (Supel) Boron; brother of the late Stephanie Kubinski, Joseph, and Louis Boron; also his faithful dog, Roxie. Ted has been a licensed embalmer and funeral director for 65 years. In 1954, he was hired as the manager of the E.C. Koontz Funeral Home. In 1968, he purchased the funeral home now known as the Boron Funeral Home, Inc. He is a US Army veteran who served in Austria during World War II. Ted has been active in Rotary International and received the Paul Harris Fellow Medal for his service to Rotary and the community. He was the founding President of the Carrick Business Association and first Chairman of the St. Basil Church Council. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus-Gilmary Council. He was a Past President of the Allegheny County Funeral Directors Association and member of the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association and National Funeral Directors Association. Ted has worked very hard his entire life, up until the very end. Saying "Hello" to every family he served. He was a very generous man and made a difference in the lives of many. He was always there to help. Visitations Thursday 6-8 p.m. and Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the BORON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1719 Brownsville Road. Everyone that has known Ted over the years are also welcome to gather in Church for his Mass of Christian Burial in St. Basil Church on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Basil Church in memory of Ted.
