Obituary

Shirley Mae (Yeager) Suzich, age 90, we lost our mother and grandmother suddenly on Saturday June 27, 2026, lived in Baldwin Borough.

Daughter of the late Gustave and Mathilda (Braller) Yeager.

Widow of the late William Suzich, married for 55 years.

Mother of Lisa (Sam) Reidland, Teresa Lewis and William Michael Suzich.

Grandmother of seven grandchildren: Andrew Lewis, Allison Lewis, Arijana Suzich, Rachel Reidland, Lucia Suzich, Ivan Suzich and Eduardo Suzich.

Beloved sister of Norma Yeager. Survived by many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her sisters Betty (Harry) Domzalski, Lottie (Harry) Wilk, Ruth E. Yeager and her brothers Gustave F. Yeager and Edward (Ruth) Yeager.

As a young woman, she worked as a clerk at the Mesta Machine Company in Homestead, PA and took art classes at the Pittsburgh School of Art. Wanting to see the world, she started attending classes at a flight attendant school and through her new friend met up with William Suzich. After a couple months, they were engaged and married later in 1957. William was in the Air Force and they were stationed at several bases located in California, Mississippi, Alaska, and finally Travis AFB near San Francisco. Dad retired in 1971 and they moved to south Texas.

She was a member of First Baptist Church. She loved Bible study and helping with the flower committee and choir events. Many hours spent decorating the sanctuary and making costumes for Christmas Pageants. She was also part of ladies singing group which included Theda Clayton Yoder and Barbara Trussell.

Her favorite hobby was art and crafts. Many classes taken and art shows at the McAllen Civic Center. She tried every media there was available.

Mom will be buried with our dad at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA. Services are private. Arrangements entrusted to Boron Funeral Home, Inc.
