Ruth Yvonne Brickett

Born on November 24, 1937, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family and the presence of the Holy Trinity on Sunday, June 15, 2025. Preceded in death by her late husband James J. Brickett, Ruth leaves behind a cherished legacy, remembered as a devoted mother, talented artist, and compassionate friend. She is survived by her loving children, Laura (Michael) Kruzynski, James M. Brickett, Timothy Brickett, Donna (Scott) Rendle, Christine (Vince) Schaefer, David (Barbara) Brickett, Marilyn (John) Havel, Daniel (Michelle) Brickett and the late Janice Brickett. Sister of Maureen Scheuermann, Robert (Sandy) Fitz, Yvonne Scannell, and Karen Kuder and the late William (Pat) Fitz. Also survived by numerus grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Ruth's life was characterized by her deep faith, her love for family, and her passion for art and nature. An active member of the Catholic Church, she served as a Catechist and a Lector, teaching religious classes and sharing her love for Jesus with her community. Ruth earned her Associate's Degree in Science in 1990, her Phlebotomy Certificate in 1994, and proudly completed her Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts in 1996.

Ruth was also known for her artistic talent, creating religious icons that she generously shared with friends and family. Her home was a welcoming place, often opened to friends and serving as a foster home for many children over the years. Ruth had a remarkable ability to touch the lives of those around her, emphasizing the importance of family, friendship, and community.

Ruth's dedication to her loved ones and her unwavering spirit will be deeply missed. Relatives and friends are welcome on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 4-7 PM at the Boron Funeral Home Inc. 1719 Brownsville Road. Funeral Prayers Wednesday at 10 AM. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Basil Church of Blessed Trinity Parish at 10:30 AM. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Monastery of Saint Tikhon of Zadonsk.
