Norma A. (Fawcett) Egger
Born on the North Side of Pittsburgh to the late Thomas and Margaret (Floody) Fawcett. After living a long life for 93 years, Norma is finally reunited with her husband, Donald "George" after his passing 44 years ago. She is also preceded in death by her son William "Billy" Egger, daughter Donna (the late Delbert) Cowan, her sister Shirley (the late Wally) Hayde and brother William Fawcett.
She was the proud mother of her 9 children and is survived by Norma (Jim) Underwood, Maggie (the late John "Jay") Kubiak, E. John (Janet), Eileen Egger, Marilyn (the late Robert) Freund, George (Renee) Egger, and Christine (Ken) Schmidt. Also survived by 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was formerly of the Allentown for 35 years prior to moving to Brookdale Senior Living of Mt. Lebanon and most recently resided with her daughter in Brookline until her passing. &
At the time of her husband's death, Norma received her high school GED, continued her education and received her Associates Degree in Business at Duff's Business School which lead to her first full-time job with Westinghouse Credit Corporation until her retirement at age of 65.
She kept busy in her retirement years by creating craft items for various craft shows around the South Hills area for many years. She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, read everything and anything, watched old movies and enjoyed singing along to her favorite musicals. Friends will be received at BORON FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1719 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh PA 15210 on Thursday from 2 – 8 p.m. Please meet in St. Michael the Archangel,St. Bernard Church in Mt. Lebanon for her Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10 a.m. at. Please follow CDC guidelines for masks and social distancing. Though she will be missed by many, we find peace in knowing she is with her husband, son, and daughter and all those who have passed before her.
