Melvin Charles Dithrich, 87, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, September 24, 2016. Family members he is joining in eternity are his parents, ex-wife, brothers, sisters and nephews.
Those remaining to mourn for him are his children; Linda (Gary) Hoge, Robert (Carol) Dithrich, Carol (Robert) Flavin, and John (Maria) Dithrich.
His cherished grandchildren, John Hoge, Kristy Grigas, Bob Flavin, Angel Jacobs, Brandon Dithrich and four great-grandchildren will deeply miss their "PupPup"".
Also surviving are his sister, Dolores Cupples, his loving companion Helen Damiano and a multitude of nephews, nieces, in-laws and friends.
Mel was a U.S. Army Veteran and member of the NMRA. Trains were a lifelong passion and well evidenced by the artful, elaborate layouts he constantly constructed.
Family and friends received Tuesday, September 27, 2016, from 2-8 PM& at Readshaw Funeral Home, Inc. 1503 Brownsville Road, Carrick.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 10:00 AM in the Marion Manor, 2695 Winchester Dr. Pittsburgh PA 15220 where Mel resided for the past 2 1/2 years. (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT MARIAN MANOR.)
Interment will follow in the South Side Cemetery with Military Honors.
