Lonnell Newkirk was born August 19, 1979, to the late Rhonda Starr and Thomas Newkirk. Lonnell was taken from us too soon on December 31, 2023.&
Lonnell also known to most as "Nelly" attended Langley High School. Lonnell did odd jobs & enjoyed painting. Nell had the heart of a lion, although very quiet those close to him knew him as loud & silly! He had many hidden talents and skills which included cooking, drawing, he was very creative! Nell had the warmest heart, always quick to help when someone was in need, he could brighten anybody's day with his jokes and weird pranks. Being a Pittsburgh native Lonnell was a "Die Hard Steelers Fan." Nell loved hosting dinners, attend family functions and always was the life of the party!
Lonnell was proceeded in death by his twin sister Lanique Newkirk, mother Rhonda Starr, father Thomas Newkirk, grandmother Cynthia Cato-Starr, grandfather Robert Starr, uncle Lamar "Lil Bit" Pondextor, and Aunt Ida Starr-Appiah.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters Nalya Newkirk and Chanelle Washington; Sisters Nika Johnson and Junea Smith; Brothers Wesley Smith, Ajani Newkirk, Shadik Newkirk, Tahlik Newkirk, Adrian Morris, and Angelo Morris; Uncle Anthony Starr; and a host of cousins, friends, nieces and nephews.
