It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kevin William Mears, who departed this life unexpectedly on June 27, 2025, at the age of 56. Born on December 4, 1968, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Kevin was a devoted husband, brother, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and camaraderie.

Kevin proudly worked as a bus driver at PRT, where his dedication to his work earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and passengers alike. He loved to work above all else, particularly relishing the opportunity to socialize with everyone he encountered. Known for his warm smile and genuine spirit, Kevin was well-loved and liked by all who knew him.

An avid hunter, Kevin found joy in the great outdoors, forging cherished memories in nature's embrace. He was surrounded by family and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

Kevin is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years and companion for 26 years to, Kellie Barrett Mears; his brother, Patrick (Patricia) Mears his sister, Kara (Robert) Wagner. his in laws Kate Barrett and W Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Barrett; his cherished nieces, Kaitlyn (Kristi) Mears-Stropes and Leah (James) Mears-Fisco, Marjae Barrett, Taryn Barrett, Ava Magliocco, Lexi Barrett, Avery Barrett.; and his nephews, Jason (Liz) Nixon and John Mears, Nicholas Barrett, Anthony Magliocco and Ethan Barrett; Great Uncle to Kylene Barrett; his furry companion Milo.

A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Readshaw Funeral Home, 1503 Brownsville Road. from 2 - 4 PM and 6-8 PM. Family and friends are invited to attend to pay their respects and celebrate the life of Kevin William Mears.

In this time of grief, we find comfort in the memories of a man who touched the lives of many and whose spirit will continue to resonate within the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
