Katherine Margaret McLinden (McDermott) (1945-2018), age 72, passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, June 11, 2018 at UPMC Magee Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.& Beloved wife of the late William Wayne McLinden and mother of the late William Wayne McLinden Jr., Katherine was born in Pittsburgh to Edward M. McDermott and Madeline Fern (Ries) Scherer, and was a resident at UPMC Vanadium Woods Village in Scott Township. Katherine was a strong, loving and proud wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother; a devout animal lover and dog-trainer, Katherine worked with many dog breeds, including English Bull-Terrier and English Bull Dog rescues.
Katherine is survived by her two children, Peter Matthew McLinden of Lebanon, Ohio and Maureen Ella McLinden of Mt. Lebanon, her daughter-in-law, Jennifer McLinden of Greentree, four grandchildren, William Wayne III, Mary Katherine, Earin Elizabeth and Rory Thomas; also survived by her two brothers and sister-in-laws, Robert and Mary Ann Scherer of Delaware, Ohio, and Thomas and Daria Scherer of Baden.
