John A. Tomko &
Age 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, of Baldwin Borough, John went to be with his dear wife. Devoted husband of the late Martha (Sokolowski) Tomko. Beloved father of John Jr., Robert, James (Stacey), and Raymond (Nancy) Tomko. Grandfather of Khristian, Kaitlin, and Bryton. Son of the late Paul and Anna (Stibrik) Tomko. Brother of Richard, Andrew, Henry, and the late Paul, and James Tomko. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Visitations at the Boron Funeral Home, Inc. , 1719 Brownsville Road Thursday from 8 AM until his Funeral Prayers at 10 AM. Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Apostles Parish at St. Basil Church at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, with full military honors. John served 4 1/2 years in the Pacific Theater during World War II as a Merchant Marine. He was employed at US Steel, Homestead Works as a ladle liner for over 40 years. John was an avid sports fan, loving his Penguins, Steelers, and the "Bumbling Bucs". He lived for, and passionately followed the lottery drawings.
