Fr. Howard P. Bleichner, S.S.&
Age 85, died on Wednesday, December 14, 2022. Father Bleichner was a priest for the Diocese of Pittsburgh and a member of the The Society of Saint Sulpice. He received his ThD in 1973 from the University of Tübingen. As a Sulpician he traveled throughout Europe and South America, becoming fluent in several languages to meet with seminarians. He was a past rector of Saint Patrick's Seminary in Menlo Park, CA; a past rector of The Theological College of The Catholic University in Washington D.C.; and served on the faculty of St. Mary's Seminary and University in Baltimore, MD. Father Bleichner is survived by his sister, Joan Stanley; niece, Kathleen Suthard; nephews, David Stanley, Peter Stanley (Darlene), and Timothy Stanley (Suellen); and numerous great nieces and nephews. There will be no viewing. Please meet in Blessed TrinityParish at St. Basil Church on Tuesday, December 20, 2022for his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM.
