Born January 1, 1938, in Pittsburgh, to the late Raymond and Catherine (Drag) Hartman. &
Loving Brother to Liz (the late John) Helmick and the late Rose Eynon.
Uncle to Debbie (Melissa) Eynon, Linda (Patrick) O'Leary, the late Sally (Survived by Howard) McBride and the late Jimmy Eynon.
Great Uncle to Dan (Amber) Trzeciak, Blake (Brittany) Eynon and Griffin O'Leary.
Great Great Uncle to Riley and Cameron Eynon.
Godfather to Cody Peters, Matt Johns, Jenna Rae Johns, Adam Kone and Shawn Fink.
Herman worked for Pittsburgh retailers Gimbels, Kaufman's and was a buyer at the Joseph Horne Co. He became a manager for the Cinemette Corporation at the King's Court Theater in Oakland, where he was at the forefront of promoting "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" in its years long run of midnight showings. He was also the local promotions liaison for Paramount Pictures. He moved on to Manager and Director of Special Promotions for the Heaven nightclub in the 1980's. Continuing in hospitality and entertainment, he held management positions with Holiday Inn, Days Inn and WP Nix.
Herman was also active in Pittsburgh Theater with the Pittsburgh Playhouse, the McKeesport Little Theater and the Beverly Hills Playhouse.
Family and friends received on Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Readshaw Funeral Home, Inc. 1503 Brownsville Road, Carrick.
Funeral Prayer Friday, December 29, 2023, at 12 Noon, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 12:30 PM, Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Basil Church, 1735 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15210.
Interment in South Side Cemetery.
