Helena Schreiner

Age 75, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025, of Bridgeville, formerly of Germany. She was the beloved wife of the late William Schreiner, survived by former companion John (Nuke) Trovato Jr.  also a devoted mother to the late William Scott Schreiner, Matthew Dean Schreiner, and John Joseph Trovato III. Helena was a cherished Bube to Amelia Trovato and her mother Renee Gordon. She was the daughter of the late Chester and Anna Gruszewski and sister to Susanna (late William) Nixon, Anna (Jack) Dusch, Nellie (Steven) Eglar, Paul Gruszewski, Theresa (William) Goralzick, and the late Sergei John Gruszewski and Steven Walter Gruszewski. Helena is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Helena was a jill of all trades, having worked as a caregiver, a bus driver for school children, and a beautician. She was an avid moviegoer and enjoyed attending the Pittsburgh Broadway Series at the Benedum. Spending time with her precious angel baby Amelia was the highlight of her life.

Relatives and friends are welcome on Monday from 2-7 PM at the Readshaw Funeral Home Inc., 1503 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15210. Funeral services will be held at Queen of Heaven Cemetery on Tuesday at 10 AM.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Helena's name.
