Harold F. "Hal" Marks, Jr., age 77, on Friday, January 17, 2025, of Bon Air.
Son of the late Harold F. and Loretta (Smith) Marks, Sr.
Beloved brother of Robin E. (Michael) Schoss and Kerry A. (Anne) Marks.
Cherished uncle of Anya (Joseph) Ritchie, Evan (Jessica) Schoss, Eric (Maria Snyder) Marks, Hannah (Damian) Todd and great uncle to Emmitt Schoss.
Hal was a dedicated Middle School Teacher for the Pittsburgh Public Schools for 41 years. &He was treasurer for the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers and Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers Retirement Association. Carrick High School Alumni Award and Pittsburgh Public School Distinguished Alumni Award. Lifetime member of Alpha Phi Omega, member of the Pitt Golden Panther Club, never missed a Pitt football season since 1965. Hal was an Eagle Scout, President of the Bon Air Civic Association, avid fisherman, never met a fish he didn't like, loved gardening, member of the Stewart Ave. Lutheran Church and volunteered at the Lutheran Affiliated Services, Mars, PA.
Family and friends received Monday 6-8 PM and Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Readshaw Funeral Home, Inc. 1503 Brownsville Road, Carrick, where a Funeral Service will be held Wednesday at 11 AM.
Entombment Jefferson Memorial Park.
