Age 41, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Franklin, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 10:22 PM in Mercy Hospital Pittsburgh, as a result of an asthmatic attack which caused cardiac arrest. She was born April 3, 1977 in Franklin. She is the beloved daughter of Kimberly A. Cauvel Fike and Raymond C. Fike Sr, and the late Ricky T. Anderson. She was a 1995 graduate of Franklin High School and went on to attend Sawyer School of Business and RMU earning a BA. She started working in high school and was always a hard worker. Frequently working two to four jobs at one time. Gretchen loved to help others and have fun with her family and friends. Going on vacation, making crafts, cooking, gardening, and taking care of her dogs past and present Boom Boom and Maizie Mae. She was always giving of herself to others. Even in death, she did this as a CORE organ donor. On November 7, 2009, she married Rick Kohley, who proceded her in death on May 10, 2010. Gretchen is survived by her mother Kim and step-father Ray, of Franklin. Her companion and fiance', Jim Kowalewski of Pittsburgh. Gretchen was also survived by her deceased husbands parents Ken and Betty Kohley of Pittsburgh, her maternal grandpa Fred Cauvel, paternal grandma Joan Anderson, step – brother Ray Fike Jr. , his wife Kristen, niece and nephew Trinity and Donovan Fike all of Franklin. Two step – grandmothers, many aunts, uncles and cousins.Grammy Gretch of Gabriella Grace and Alexander James Shack, and Aria Elizabeth Kowalewski and Miles Oliver Cernell. Stepmother of Ashley Cernell, Nicholas, and Kiersten Kowalewski. She was preceded in death by her father, Rick Anderson, her maternal grandma Ellen Cauvel, paternal grandpa Richard "Gus" Anderson. Friends and family will be received on Sunday, June 10 from 1 PM until her Services at 7 PM at the Boron Funeral Home, Inc., 1719 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh PA 15210. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
