Age 65, passed peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2020, after a valiant fight with cancer. Wife of Dale C. Schlegel. Mother of Rebecca L. Schlegel and Mark D. (Jennifer) Schlegel. Grandmother of Allison McLuckie, Kerri Ray, Anthony Ireland, Tyrique Johnson, Jayden Johnson, Jerome Ingles, and Adam Schlegel. Great Grandmother of Amari Hemingway, Aariyah Grace and Amaya Grace. Sister of Johannah Sismondo, Louise Twardy, Anita Yalch, and Alexis Richie. Visitations Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Boron Funeral Home, Inc. , 1719 Brownsville Road. Please follow CDC guidelines. Due to the current Covid-19 regulations, her services will be private. Today we lost Erica to a long bout with cancer. She was a great lady with one of the most generous hearts we had the honor and privilege of knowing. She opened her home to foster kids, took in every stray, mistreated animal she came across and she did it because she saw a need. She inspired us and years ago we affectionately named her "St. Ricki of Carrick, protector to those in need". She was most certainly the closest thing to a saint we ever met. May she rest in peace. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Light of Life Missions or the American Cancer Society or your favorite animal shelter.
