Edward D. De Bald, Sr.
Age 94, of Carrick, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2016. Son of the late John and Antoinette De Bald. Beloved husband for 61 happy years to the late Mathilda G. "T.C." Colonnese. Loving father to the late Edward D. De Bald Jr. and Suzanne R. De Bald. Brother of the late Stanley, Louis, John, Walter De Bald, and Helen Sporny and Esther Beckwith. Loving uncle to Frank Colonnese and his daughters, Allyson, Angela, and Tricia; also Clement Colonnese and his wife Brenda. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Grandfather to James, Jeffrey, Jason, and Brandi De Bald. Great Grandfather to eight. A three year veteran of World War II with the Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1946. He was awarded the American Defense Medal, World War II Victory Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with Four Bronze Stars, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Marksmanship Pin, and the Meritorious Unit Award. A member of the Brookline American Legion Post 540, St. Basil Church in Carrick, a gymnast and a life long member of the Polish Falcons of America Nest 8 for 78 years and an alumni of St. Adalbert's. Ed was an avid bowler and dancer along with his wife, T.C.. After retirement, he started making unique wooden crafts. His specialty turned to building "Bird Houses" of any size, also bird and squirrel feeders. His unusual hobby was collecting wooden carved statues, masks, etc., whether they be made in this country or imported from overseas. Ed retired after 36 years as a Chief Mechanical Engineer from a Glass Engineering firm in Peter's Township. During his last years there he was a Project Engineer in the field. Visitations on Tuesday from 2-7 PM at the Boron Funeral Home, Inc., 1719 Brownsville Road, where relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Prayers on Wednesday at 10:30 AM. Interment in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
