DEBORAH ANN LEROCH PERESLUCHA

1955 - 2026

“Debi” (Leroch) Pereslucha, 71, passed away on September 23 in Phoenix, Arizona, with her devoted son, Michael, by her side. She was the daughter of Matthew J. Leroch Jr. and Rose F. Leroch, formerly of Carrick and later Whitehall.

Debi was born in Carrick, then later moved to Vandergrift where she raised her four children. In 2010, she settled in the South Park area, where she was lovingly cared for by her son, Matt. She was diagnosed in her late 20’s with multiple sclerosis and much later cancer, and both took a toll on her. Nineteen months ago, when she became bedridden, Debi was welcomed into the Phoenix home of her eldest son, Michael, and his wife, Alicia, who nurtured her with holistic support, compassion, faith, and God-centered love.

Debi is survived by her daughter, Rebecca, of Westmoreland County; her sons, Michael and his wife, Alicia, of Arizona, Matthew of Pittsburgh, and Derrick of California; and three grandchildren through Rebecca. She is also survived by her siblings, Matthew (Tracy), of New Mexico, Linda Breisinger (Larry), and Toni Sue McGuire (Tim), both of Whitehall.

Debi attended St. Basil High School, where she excelled. Notably, she was a National Honor Scholar, served in student government, cheered for four years, and played the lead role in her senior play. In 2023, she was able to attend her 50th reunion with the Class of 1973, whose continued kindness and friendship brought her great joy. Their fond memories and Debi’s cheerful disposition captured their hearts. Though wheelchair- bound Debi never felt any pain, and was always cheerful. Many classmates embraced her immobility and rallied around her, took her to lunch and visited her often.

The family extends immense heartfelt thanks to her classmates, cousins Linda Barr and Betty Ann Ogg, and her friend Janice for their love, help, visits, and care. Debi’s greatest gifts were her grateful spirit, and unwavering faith in God. She loved her great-nieces and nephews and will be especially missed at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Debi is now free from immobility and dependence and is living in heaven with her beloved Lord and God, Jesus Christ. There will be no viewing. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Boron Funeral Home.
