IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David "Mazz"
B Mazzalupo
September 14, 2024
David Bruce Mazzalupo, 76 of Greensburg, PA, formerly of Plainville and Old Lyme, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 14, 2024.
"Mazz" as he was known to many, was born March 23, 1948, one of two children to the late Rudolph "Rudy" and Rose (Silverio) Mazzalupo, and was raised and educated in Plainville.& His dedication to his country was evident as he proudly enlisted in the US Navy following graduation, serving as an aircraft hydraulics mechanic during the Vietnam War, solidifying his lifelong love for all things mechanical.
Always the entrepreneur, David co-founded Macon Machinery Sales and later David Mazzalupo & Associates where he rebuilt and sold plastics machinery around the world. He managed a blow molding company which brought him to western Pennsylvania where he went on to eventually form and operate a successful auto transport business. These endeavors fueled David's love of travel and mechanical expertise. In his personal life he relished the challenge of building and restoring cars, always tinkering on one of his many "works in progress". When he wasn't working on a car, he was spectating any and all kinds of auto racing in person or on television.
Proud of his Italian heritage, David embraced life with enthusiasm, enjoying woodworking, spirited political discussions, and worldwide travels. While in Old Lyme he took up boating and sailed the entire coast of New England with his family creating many cherished memories. His strong work ethic, compassion, and unwavering pride and love for his family and friends will forever be remembered by all who knew him. While the distance presented a challenge, David always took an interest in the latest accomplishments and activities of his grandkids.
He is survived by his daughter Stacy and her husband David; his son Marc and his wife Jill; and his grandsons, James and Matthew. He also leaves his former spouses Carol and Paula, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Donna "Mezzie" Wolgin.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Machinery Dealers National Association's Austin D. Lucas Scholarship Fund in memory of David Mazzalupo where a trust will be established in his name: http://www.doctorelliott.us/Mazz/
