December 31, 1939 – March 16, 2024
Charles Gabig Jr., 84, passed away at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital.
He was born in Pittsburgh, PA, in 1940, and throughout his life, he touched the hearts of many with his kindness and love for his family.
In addition to his career achievements, Charles proudly served in the United States Army, demonstrating his commitment to his country. Charles was a retired city letter carrier for USPS. He found joy in attending Lord of Life Church in Canfield on Saturdays with his beloved wife.
Those who knew Charles will always remember him for his warm personality and the special moments he shared with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him.
Charles is survived by his wife, M. Marlene Wining Gabig, whom he married in November of 2013; his son, Michael (Michelle) Gabig of Pittsburgh, PA; granddaughter, Maddison K. Gabig; grandson, Michael J. Gabig Jr.; and his sister Joan Palombo of Virginia; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Margaret Brendel Gabig Sr.; his first wife of over 45 years, Margaret "Margie" Fuchs-Gabig; and a sister named Margie (Russell) Olson of Maryland.
A Blessing Service will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 10:30 AM in the South Side Cemetery, 1404 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15210.
