John "Jack" Anthony Sroka

April 26, 2017

John Anthony “Jack” Sroka

Age 80, of Lancaster, formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017.  Jack served in the United States Marine Corp. He was a Manufacturer's Representative for the Heavy Duty Trucking Industry.  On March 1, 2005, Jack took a big leap and formed his own company, Jack Sroka Company LLC and continued to have a successful sales career, earning numerous salesman of the year awards. Jack had a passion for bowling. He was inducted into the Greater Pittsburgh Bowling Hall of Fame (1990), K of C Art Bevenger Sportsmanship Award (2002), Southeastern Ohio USBC Area Bowling Hall of Fame (2016). Jack was a member of the FOE Eagles, Moose, and K of C.

Additionally, he bowled 50 years in the USBC Open Championships.  The first Open Championships was held in 1901. If you were to add all the teams together over the years and multiply by five, you’d be beyond three million bowlers, but many have competed more than once. As of 2016 there have been 205 bowlers in history with 50 years of bowling, Jack was No. 203.
